The England national team withdrew from the UEFA Nations League trophy contention on Thursday, after losing to the Netherlands footballers in the semi-final after extra time with a score of 1:3.
Gareth Southgate's team made mistakes during extra time, when two glaring defensive errors allowed the Dutch to secure the victory and advance to the tournament final.
However, the England national team's coach does not dwell on these mistakes and assures that his team will continue to demonstrate a similar style of play.
"I asked my team to play more boldly in defense. If we didn't do that, we wouldn't be in this stage of the tournament. We lost not because of how we wanted to play, but due to poor execution and fatigue.
It wasn't just those two goals in extra time. We made mistakes and gave them enough opportunities and we should have been punished for it earlier", - said G. Southgate after the defeat.
The England footballers still have matches for the third place in the Nations League, where they will try their luck against the Swiss national team.
