The coach of the England national team, Gareth Southgate, disagrees with the Swedish claims that his team is privileged - according to him, like their opponents, they had to achieve everything through their hard work.
The "Three Lions" team will face the Swedish footballers in the World Cup quarterfinals at 5 PM Lithuanian time.
Although the Swedish achievements during the tournament may appear better, many fans consider the English team stronger because of their experience in more powerful clubs.
"We are not a team that simply appears on the pitch as if we should have some privileges," Southgate said.
"We are guys who come from 'Barnsley,' 'Leeds,' 'Bolton,' and 'Blackburn.'
"Looking at this Saturday is very important for us, because I think Sweden likes to emphasize how much we earn and that we are privileged, when I believe that is not the case with this team."
"It is important to remember that (assistant coach - ed.) Steve (Holland - ed.) worked at 'Crewe.' I was at 'Crystal Palace' when they were not as good as they are now. We fought for our places ourselves."
"Many of our guys have played in the Championship or lower divisions regardless of whether they started there or were loaned there. These messages are really important to us."
"We are successful because we really help each other, we play good football, but we also work off the ball."
"(Among us - ed.) there are no passengers, no one who cannot get back, no one slacking off. That is the main reason why we achieve great results and we must continue to do so."
England and Sweden national teams will compete at the Samara Stadium.
