Italy's national team coach Giampiero Ventura still does not want to step down from his position.
The team led by the 69-year-old specialist suffered an unprecedented fiasco and did not qualify for the World Cup in Russia.
However, the strategist defends himself and claims that he did everything he could.
"I apologize to all Italians for the result. It will be terrible to see the World Cup without our national team.
Unfortunately, everything is already over and nothing can be changed.
Nevertheless, I achieved one of the best results in the last 40 years - in two years I lost only two matches," Ventura insisted.
On Wednesday, the Italian Federation will hold a meeting to discuss the current situation, but its president Carlo Tavecchio has also received calls to resign.
