Monchengladbach's "Borussia" defender Granit Xhaka will soon be able to call himself a "gunner". According to football news portal Goal.com, he arrived in London with his brother Taulant to sign a contract with "Arsenal".
Earlier it was announced that the Swiss national team player had already agreed on personal contract terms with the English club, and now the deal will be finalized.
Although negotiations for the player's transfer fee lasted quite a while, "Arsenal" will most likely pay 43 million euros for the 23-year-old player.
Xhaka himself will sign a four-year contract and will take over the number 34 shirt, which currently belongs to another defender, Francis Coquelin. The Frenchman has no objections to these changes.
The new "gunner" recruit will not only replace Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, whose contracts will not be extended, but will also strengthen the team's midfield, which is constantly being criticized.
