"Atletico" captain Gabi shared his thoughts with the media ahead of the upcoming city derby and pointed out the most dangerous player of Madrid's "Real" team.
The 33-year-old defender claimed that Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo are not the main weapons of the "white" team, but Luka Modric. Gabi is convinced that "Real" has been very lucky that the Croat managed to recover from injury before the Madrid derby and will be able to play in the weekend's crucial match.
"The Madrid team is making every effort to put their best players on their feet, so this says a lot about the upcoming match. They value us and know how tough the game will be," Gabi said.
"Modric's return after injury means they will have their best player in the lineup. He is the one who brings balance to the team. However, we will try to show our game and win the match," the Spaniard added.
These matches will be particularly important for the "Atletico" team. In case of a loss, they would increase their gap from the "Real" team, which is still in first place, to 9 points.
