Gargždai 'Banga' defeated the championship outsiders 'Dainava' club.

In the 8th round of the "TOPsport A league," the teams of Gargždų "Bangos," who were experiencing a drought of points, faced DFK "Dainava." After a fierce battle, the players from Gargždai celebrated victory and claimed three important points with a score of 2:1 (1:0).

At the start of the match, the ball did not linger in the midfield, and both teams tried to score a quick goal. Ignas Venckus, having taken the ball, rushed into a counterattack, but his shot hit the post, and the score remained unchanged.

A bit later, there was tension near the goal defended by Mantas Bertašius, but the "Bangos" goalkeeper managed to deal with a shot from Alytus' legionnaire Artiom Litviakov. Moments later, Gargždai prepared a response, but the goalkeeper Airidas Mickevičius, playing in his second match in a row, dealt with a header from I. Venckus.

At the end of the first half, David Alfonso's team dealt a painful blow to the visitors from Alytus. Vaidas Magdušauskas lifted the ball into the penalty area, and Deividas Malžinskas sent it into the net.

After the break, the Alytus team had a chance to restore equality—Davoras Rakičius received the ball in the penalty area, expertly deceived his opponents, but his shot went slightly over the bar. A few minutes later, Aaron Olugbogi rushed into a quick attack, but like I. Venckus at the start of the match, he hit the post.

As the match was nearing its end, the teams exchanged goals—the home team’s lead was doubled by Pijus Srėbalius, who came on as a substitute, and a few minutes later, D. Rakičius responded with an accurate shot.

On the day of the Easter holiday, the "Bangos" players, having earned three points, now have 8 in their account and surpassed "Panevėžys," while the representatives of "Dainava," holding just a point, sit at the bottom of the league table.
