G.Arlauskas' official debut at "Watford" club marked by a loss

The goalkeeper of the Lithuanian national team, Giedrius Arlauskis, failed to keep a clean sheet in his debut match for "Watford" against "Preston North End" in the "Capital One" Cup on Tuesday. The coach Quique Sanchez Flores finally gave the Lithuanian a chance this time, replacing Brazilian Heurelho Gomes and making an appearance from the first minutes on the field.

However, "Watford" suffered a defeat 0:1 as the only goal of the match was scored by Belgian Marnick Vermijl in the 8th minute. In this match, besides G.Arlauskis, two more "Watford" newcomers made their debut - center-back Miguel Britos and loaned from London's "Chelsea" Nathan Ake.

Britos' debut was very unsuccessful as he received his second yellow card in the 75th minute and dashed "Watford's" hopes of progressing to the next stage. Arlauskis played the full 90 minutes.
