Gennaro Gattuso rejected a lucrative offer to move to Russia and decided to stay among the ranks of the Italian champions.
The 33-year-old footballer was linked with a move to another country, but did not agree to the offer from "Anzhi" in Machachkala, where the famous Roberto Carlos plays.
"The option was indeed not bad, but in the end I decided that it would be best for me and my family to stay in Milan. After all, I have been playing here for 12 years, so I feel at home," Gattuso told "Gazzetta dello Sport."
The veteran's contract will still be valid for another year, and last season he played 31 matches in the Serie A championship.
