Gavi: "Pedri must win the Ballon d'Or award"

Barcelona club midfielder Gavi, after reaching the Champions League quarter-finals, could not hold back his praise for teammate Pedri and the situation regarding not starting in the team's lineup:

I have no doubt that Pedri deserves to win the Ballon d'Or award because he is the best.

Everyone in football knows what a great player he is; his quality is absolutely clear... Pedri deserves to win this award more than any other player.

I have never been disappointed about starting a match on the bench... People make up a lot of things, but all of that is a lie.

I signed a five-year contract with the Catalan team and I will stick to it because this is my life club. I am calm and know that the coach trusts me a lot.

20-year-old Gavi has scored 2 goals in 25 matches this season.
