Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon talked about the decision he made last summer and his chances of playing for the national team in the future.
The 40-year-old athlete surprised fans during the offseason when instead of retiring he went to the Paris Saint Germain club.
According to the player, this decision was not dictated by money.
"The first rule is not to let others influence your decisions and ideas. I will never sell my ideals and dreams for money.
If I were different, I would have done this a long time ago," the veteran insisted.
"Money is important, it means an easier life, but I am not a sellout."
"I am very happy to belong to PSG, as receiving an offer from such a team is a great pleasure," Buffon said.
The legend revealed that he is most likely never going to play for the Italian national team again.
"I talked to the team's coach Roberto Mancini - I am not needed by them."
In the "Ligue 1" championship, Buffon played 8 matches.
