G.Chiellini: Italy's Championship Won by the Best Defensive Team © EuroFootball.com

In the fight for the "Serie A" title, Giorgio Chiellini believes that the key to success lies in a solid defense.

The team represented by the defender, "Juventus," is one step away from their second consecutive "Scudetto" and could theoretically become the champions of Italy in Sunday's match against "Torino."

According to the Italian national team player, the success of the Turin team has been determined by their unparalleled ability to dismantle opponents' attacks.

"The history of the championship shows that the victor is the one who defends the best," Chiellini reflected. "The team's solidity in defense is the main factor. It's not about two or three defenders, but about the organization of all 11 players on the field defending."

"If I'm not mistaken, this season we have conceded fewer goals than last year. This year, we are also one of the highest-scoring teams," he added.

This season in the "Serie A" championship, "Juventus" has conceded only 20 goals, 12 less than "Napoli." Antonio Conte's players also share the top spot as the highest-scoring teams with "Roma," both having scored 64 goals each.

In the Turin derby happening next Sunday, also known as the "Derby della Mole," "Juventus" could mathematically secure the title of "Serie A" champion by defeating "Torino" and hoping for an unlikely victory from "Pescara" against second-placed "Napoli".

"We are not thinking about the 'Scudetto' yet. We are focused on the matches ahead, which we will strive to win at all costs. We shouldn't be thinking about the champions' celebration yet," the defender stated.

"I don't think 'Napoli,' who are aiming for second place, will slip up. With all due respect to the 'Pescara' team, I don't believe they will manage to even earn a point," Chiellini added.

In the Italian championship, "Juventus" is undoubtedly the strongest team. However, in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, the Italians were defeated by Munich's "Bayern," who practically secured their place in the final by defeating "Barcelona" 4-0 last Tuesday.

"Those matches don't change anything. They were extraordinary. In the quarterfinals, we faced the strongest opponents. We had to fight against the best, and we did it with all our strength," noted Chiellini.
