"Man City" defender Gael Clichy urges the "cityzens" to learn tactics from London's "Chelsea" team.
According to the 29-year-old Frenchman, the most important thing is not the beauty of football, but achieving results.
"People say that Jose Mourinho's team plays defensive football and his players don't like to attack. However, the "blues" won many games by just one goal difference and in the end, you have to look at the "Chelsea" trophy cabinet," the footballer said.
"Sometimes you need to win matches, even when you play poorly. This season there were many times when we could have salvaged at least a draw instead of suffering defeats. In our place, "Chelsea" would have fought for points. That's the main difference between these teams," Clichy claimed.
"We played against the London club twice, both times we were better, created more opportunities, controlled the ball longer, but still ended up losing points.
If "Chelsea" needed five points to win the title and they had to grind out draws, that's what the "blues" would do. No one else in the Premier League could do it. So, they must be doing something right."
