The German national team had to make a lot of effort, but in the end the European champions reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.

On Saturday, Juliano Nagelsmann's team defeated the Danish team 2-0 in the round of 16 match in Dortmund.

Early in the match, the Germans scored a goal, but the accurate shot was not counted - a foul was recorded on the goalkeeper.

Soon after, the Danish goalkeeper had to demonstrate his skills after shots from J. Kimmich and K. Havertz.

In the 35th minute, referee M. Oliver decided to temporarily suspend the match due to extremely poor weather conditions and lightning.

In extra time, K. Havertz wasted another opportunity. The half ended with R. Hojlund's attempt against goalkeeper M. Neuer and the latter's excellent display.

In the 52nd minute, a penalty was awarded for handball by the Danish defender, which was converted by K. Havertz (1:0).

In the 69th minute, J. Musiala doubled the lead, showing his speed qualities and evading the opponents' defenders - 2:0.
