On Sunday, the last two matches of the 26th round of the German Bundesliga took place.
Leverkusen's Bayer hosted Wolfsburg at home. The hosts wasted a two-goal advantage and only managed to equalize at the end of the match with a score of 3-3.
In the 40th minute, Leverkusen's team took the lead, and Kevin Volland increased the lead to two goals in the 65th minute. It seemed that all the points in this match were already settled, but then the representative of "Wolves" Mario Gomez spoke out.
The German national team forward narrowed the gap in the 80th minute, and just three minutes later equalized the score. In the 87th minute, the German already had three goals to his name, scoring from the penalty spot and unexpectedly putting "Wolves" ahead.
Wolfsburg was close to a sensational victory, but Bayer managed to equalize the score in the 89th minute and settle for one point.
