In the eighth-finals of the German Cup, Berlin's "Union" defeated their neighbors "Hertha" with a score of 3:2. The visitors started the match with a quick goal. In the 11th minute, Andreas Voglsammer's powerful shot into the top left corner of the goal left no chances for the opponents' goalkeeper and the score became 1:0. The second half "Union" started the same as the first. In the 50th minute, the hosts' defender Niklas Starkas sent the ball into his own goal and the score became 2:0. Just four minutes later, another own goal was scored. This time, the visitors' defender Rani Khedira was unlucky. "Hertha" reduced the score, but just a minute later they again had a two-goal deficit. After a great pass from Bastian Oczipka, Robin Knoche aimed accurately and sent the ball into the goal. In the 90 +5 minute, "Hertha" once again reduced the deficit. Suat Serdar scored and the score became 3:2. However, this goal came a bit too late and the hosts could not equalize the score in the remaining time. After this victory, "Union" advances to the quarter-finals of the German Cup.
