The coach of the German national team Joachim Low will have to do without the services of defender Lars Bender at the 2014 World Cup.
The Bayer Leverkusen player had already been called up to the national team and was training with them, but had to leave the training base due to a muscle problem.
J.Lowas confirmed: "When the tournament is about to start and a player has to withdraw, it is very painful for the whole team."
"I am very disappointed, because Lars Bender could have shown his skills at the World Cup," concluded the German national team coach.
In the G group of the World Cup taking place in Brazil, the Germans will play against Portugal, Ghana, and the USA.
