Germany only defeated Algeria after extra time (VIDEO)

The Algerian national team failed to create another miracle at the World Cup. In the quarter-finals of the tournament, the Africans fought honorably, but after extra time, they lost 1-2 to the German national team.

At the beginning of the match, the Algerian team tried to defend carefully. In the 9th minute, I. Slimani could have scored, but M. Neuer came out of his goal in time and eliminated the danger.

In the 13th minute, Schweinsteiger took a long shot, but Mbolhi saved confidently.

The Africans responded with dangerous counterattacks. Feghouli broke through near the goal, but was inaccurate. Soon after, a combination of Ghoulamo and Slimani ended with a goal - the striker headed the ball into Neuer's goal after a precise pass from a teammate. However, the referee disallowed it.

Ghoulamas then deceived several German defenders and broke towards the goal, but again lacked the skill to finish the attack successfully.

At the end of the first half, J. Löw's protégés showed that they were not considered favorites for nothing. The Europeans took the initiative: M. Ozil tried his luck from afar, and in the 40th minute, the Algerian goalkeeper performed fantastically, blocking shots from T. Kroos and M. Gotze.

After the break, the Germans started a siege on the opponent's goal, but Mbolhi played reliably. The Algerians responded with quick counterattacks.

In the 57th minute, Ph. Lahm took a dangerous long shot. M. Neuer also had work to do, stopping Slimani's attack.

As the game time dwindled, the Europeans wasted more chances - Schweinsteiger, Muller.

The teams had to play extra time, which started with a lightning-quick German goal - T. Muller passed the ball into the penalty area and A. Schurrle directed it into the goal - 1-0.

In the 102nd minute, M. Mostefa almost equalized the score as the ball flew just past the post after a corner.

In the 119th minute, M. Ozil sealed the game when he deftly beat Mbolhi after a wayward shot from T. Muller. Algeria managed to score a consolation goal - receiving a long pass into the penalty area, A. Djabou precisely struck the ball - 1-2.
