During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the first participant in the World Championship final taking place in Brazil was revealed in Belo Horizonte. In the semi-final match for the 2002 final, Germany easily defeated the Brazilian hosts.
From the first minutes of the championship, the hosts promised a lot - at the very beginning of the match, the Brazilians pressed Joachim Low's players, but they failed to score.
However, soon after, the German national team managed to escape from the pressure and launched several attacks, and they managed to score: in the 11th minute after a corner, Thomas Muller was left completely unmarked and easily defeated the opponents' goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
Brazilians started actively attacking after conceding a goal, but all their efforts were in vain - in the 23rd minute after a great attack by Thomas Muller and Miroslav Klose, the latter sent the ball into the opponent's net with his second attempt.
Then began the humiliation of the hosts. Just a minute after M. Klose's goal, Toni Kroos received the ball from the right wing and swiftly sent it to the bottom corner of the goal.
After snatching the ball in the middle, the Germans threatened the Brazilians again. Fernandinho's mistake in his own half gifted another fast attack and goal to the Germans. T. Kroos scored once again.
After the fourth accurate strike, "Die Mannschaft" did not stop - already in the 29th minute of the match, Sami Khedira sent the ball into the net once again.
Mentally broken and with a silent stadium, the Brazilians allowed the Germans to enjoy football, but until the break, they did not score more goals and during the last third of the half, the Brazilians had more possession of the ball. However, the teams went to rest with a score of 5 - 0.
From the beginning of the second half, Luis Felipe Scolari's team pressured the opponents and tried to rehabilitate themselves in front of their fans, but the excellent performance of Manuel Neuer and the defenders resisted the Brazilian attacks.
The German national team continued to trouble the opponents' goalkeeper with counterattacks and less frequent positional attacks.
Forward Andre Schurrle, who entered the field after a substitution, managed to score twice. In the 69th minute after a beautiful combination on the right wing, the German who played for "Chelsea" easily scored against J. Cesar.
In the 79th minute, A. Schurrle's goal was even more impressive - after a cross from the sidelines, T. Muller received the ball on the left wing and quickly passed it to A. Schurrle, who left no chances for the opponent's goalkeeper with an impressive shot.
However, the Brazilians managed to score a consolation goal. In the 90th minute after a counterattack, Oscar evaded M. Neuer and defeated the German national team's goalkeeper.
Having crushed the hosts of the World Championship, the Germans will face the national team of the Netherlands or Argentina in the final, who will clarify their relationship on Wednesday.
