Getting ready to Renew the Football Season in Japan

While the European football leagues are looking for options on how to finish the season, which had to be stopped due to the outbreak of coronavirus, Japan is already preparing for a return to the stadiums.

The president of the highest Japanese league, Mitsuru Murai, confirmed that the championship will be resumed on May 9, and at the end of April the battles of lower divisions will also be resumed.

Furthermore, Japanese league clubs will not have to play in empty stadiums. Spectators will be able to attend the matches, but the number of tickets sold will be limited so that fans do not have to sit next to each other and a safe distance is maintained.

However, visiting fans will not be allowed at the matches, in order to continue restricting people's movements in the country.

Japan managed to avoid a huge COVID-19 outbreak. It is reported that a little over 1100 people have been infected in the country, and 52 infected individuals have died.
