Theoretically, next season two "Manchester United" clubs could play in the Champions League. This is because Gibraltar, with a population of up to 30 thousand people, is making its way onto the European football map.

The territory belonging to Great Britain received three important quotas - for the Champions League, Europa League, and the qualifiers for the 2016 European Football Championship.

There are eight teams playing in the Gibraltar football championship. Among them are the "Lincoln" club, which has won eleven consecutive titles, and "Manchester United".

The news that Gibraltar's league has entered the European football family has strengthened the local championship. The attitude of local players has changed, and foreign players are coming to play.

"When footballers have such a goal, they now work much more persistently. Our young players who have played in Spain return to their homeland and dream of playing in the Champions League. Enthusiasm has increased about 10 times. Gibraltar's goals are long-term. We hope that in 5, 10, or 15 years Gibraltar football will be able to compete at a high level," said Roy Chipolina, captain of the Gibraltar national team.
