The team of Šiauliai "Gintra", defending the title of champions of the Baltic Women's Football League (BWFL) and finishing in first place in the regular season, had no problems in the semifinals against Ryga SFK and advanced to the final in a straight path.
The impressive debutant of the Gintra team, Seina Kashima, marked a "hat-trick" in the first half-hour and defeated the opponents of the Lithuanian champions with a score of 7:0 (4:0).
The hosts began to demonstrate their superiority against the Latvian champions from the beginning of the match, and the newcomer to the team, Seina Kashima, troubled the opponents' defensive line. In her debut game, she led the team forward for the first time. She managed to score in the 14th minute after successfully stopping the ball in the penalty area and directing it into the net.
Feeling the taste of victory, S. Kashima continued to drive the opponents into despair and confirmed the advantage of the Lithuanian champions. With a technical strike, she defeated the opponent's goalkeeper for the second time, and after a few minutes, scored a "hat-trick". Juliet Sunday also scored with a precise shot before the break, making the score 4:0.
After the break, the head coach of the team, Kalojan Petkovas, released the players onto the field, some of whom started the match on the bench, and the "Gintra" continued to dominate on the pitch. The team, firmly holding control of the match, secured the victory with several more goals and rightfully earned a ticket to the final.
In the BWFL tournament final, which will take place in Šiauliai on August 19, the "Gintra" will face the winner of the other semifinal between Talinn's "Flora" and "Sporting" from Saku.
