Monchengladbacho "Borussia" officially confirmed that this summer the team will be joined by "Basel" goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
The German team needed a new goalkeeper after it became clear that after this season Marco-Andre Ter Stegen will part ways with the club.
Reports in the press had already hinted that the young German would move to Barcelona, and recently it was announced that M-A. Ter Stegen has become a member of the Catalan club for 12 million euros.
"Ter Stegen informed us that he will leave the club after this season, so we were forced to look for a new goalkeeper," said "Borussia" director Max Eberl.
"We can announce that we have reached an agreement with "Basel" for the acquisition of goalkeeper Yann Sommer. He is a top-class goalkeeper who has gained a lot of experience," added M. Eberl.
The 25-year-old Swiss has been playing for the team from Basel since 2009. During this time, he has appeared on the field more than 100 times.
