It is reported that Daniel Sturridge suffered another injury, adding another record to his long list of injuries. Liverpool striker was once again forced off the field due to a calf strain.
The 26-year-old player felt pain in the 0:2 match against Newcastle, and tests on Tuesday revealed muscle damage.
It is currently not reported how long the player's rehabilitation will take, but it is believed that he will need a few weeks to recover, with no chance of playing in Thursday's match against Sion.
After recovering from his last injury, the striker was included in the starting lineup only once, in the match against Southampton, which Liverpool won 6:1, with Sturridge scoring two goals. Prior to that, Klopp emphasized that a longer rehabilitation plan and a lighter inclusion in the main lineup were applied to the player to avoid further injuries.
"If a player has had 20 injuries, it is obvious that he cannot be treated in the same way as a footballer who has experienced only one injury," Klopp revealed about the caution applied.
Despite all the caution, it did not help the player stay healthy. The striker played only 346 minutes this season, but managed to score four times during that time.
