Football fans sitting beside the visitors' bench witnessed a rather unusual sight - head coach Maurizio Sarri, who was suffering from a lung infection, was replaced by Giovanni Martusciello.
After the match, the assistant coach spoke:
"Today, I spoke with Sarri many times in the morning. Of course, it is hard for him to stay away and Maurizio wanted to know everything that was happening with the team.
We talked before the match, during halftime, and after the meeting was already over. Sarri was very pleased with the result, but also a bit irritated, as he is an idealist.
"He rated the first half well, and the second half excellently, considering how the team coped with its problems in difficult moments."
