England's national team, preparing for the European Championship, today began a series of friendly matches. Their first opponent was Turkey.
Roy Hodgson's team stepped onto the field with quite an interesting lineup, which included five players from London's "Tottenham."
It was the "Tottenham" duo that took the lead in the third minute - striker Harry Kane scored after a pass from his teammate Dele Alli.
However, the Turks soon equalized when goalkeeper Joe Hart played unconfidently and allowed Hakan Calhanoglu to send the ball into empty goal.
The essence of the whole match was balance, with England's team having only a few more opportunities. Nevertheless, they were enough to score the decisive goal.
In the 72nd minute, Kane missed a penalty kick, but his mistake was later rectified by the attacking leader of "Leicester City" Jamie Vardy, who took advantage of the confusion among the Turkish players and rushed to the loose ball.
