Today, on December 28th, the former president of the Bremen team and chairman of the team's steering committee, Dr. Franz Bohmer, passed away in the hospital.
70-year-old Bohmer suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life. Bohmer led the Bremen club for almost 3 decades, from 1970 to 1999. During that time, the club won the championship twice and the German Cup three times. Later, Bohmer became the chairman of the club's steering committee.
From 2000 to 2004, Bohmer was also a member of the German Football Federation's board.
