The Lithuanian national team players celebrated a successful tactical plan and result after the victory against Liechtenstein, which will give them confidence for the next match.

Lithuanian national team defender Tadas Kijanskas:

"From the very first minutes, we set the tone to not allow Liechtenstein to get into the game and immediately started pressing. The first goal came from that. Of course, the factor of luck also played a role, as their player slipped. But we deserved the success because we pressed the opponents.

The second goal came from a set piece. This was my first goal for the national team. When the team wins and you score a goal, it's really nice. I had another opportunity in the second half, but it didn't quite work out, the ball "slipped away." Scoring a double would have been even more enjoyable. We missed a few more chances. At the end of the second half, we felt a lack of strength.

In the match against Latvia, we didn't look too bad, we had a certain pattern. But two painful mistakes cost us the loss. Today, we also tried to play the ball, create attacks. That is not our strong point. Today we wanted to redeem ourselves, especially for the fans. Their stand in Riga looked very nice."

Lithuanian national team forward Deivydas Matulevičius:

"The match was successful, we achieved what we wanted - an early goal. We followed the coach's instructions, pressed the opponents. We proved that we are the better team. Today we had to prove to all the pessimists, and to ourselves, that we can beat such teams.

After scoring a goal, we calmed down. Knowing that we were ahead, we probably relaxed a bit in the second half, allowing the opponents to create some dangerous attacks. Later we got back on track. I could have scored four goals today, but maybe I lacked the skill, maybe even luck. There is work to be done."

Lithuanian national team goalkeeper Gediminas Vičius:

The team approached the match seriously, prepared very focused, knew what needed to be done on the field. Therefore, we managed to win. The coach warned that the opponents are a fighting team, they will try to achieve a result. We cannot approach playing against a weak team, because there are no weak teams.

We tried to press the opponents, not everything worked out, but it paid off. We scored goals and that is the most important thing. We could have scored more, but accuracy was lacking. Victory is very important, especially since there aren't many of them. This will give us a positive attitude for the next match.

Lithuanian national team defender Vytautas Andriuškevičius:

"It's nice to return to play for the national team. Victory is pleasant, because today we really showed that we were better. We kept possession, had more chances. I think everything worked out. We silenced those who had already written us off as the last.

The Liechtenstein team was tough, they played hard football, so there was also emotion. We had a task to keep the ball before the match, but when we were leading 2-0, there was no need to rush forward."

Lithuanian national team goalkeeper Deividas Česnauskis:

"The match went well. We managed to recover after the last match in Latvia. It was important to score and achieve a victory. Even though it was against Liechtenstein, it was still important. The support of family, loved ones, and the whole stadium meant a lot."

Lithuanian national team goalkeeper Gratas Sirgėdas:

"Debut means a lot to me. Every footballer wants to play for the national men's team. The first time is truly pleasant. Such international level matches add motivation and experience.

As the coach asked, we tried to control the ball in this match. I think we succeeded. Now the most important thing is three points and a victory."
