Guti extended contract with "Real" until 2010 © EuroFootball.com

"Real Madrid, the giant club of Spain, has already reached an agreement with the midfielder Guti and the latter has agreed to extend his contract with the Royal club for another two years. The new contract will expire in 2010.

Real's sports director Predrag Mijatović was the first person to reach an agreement with Guti. The former striker of the Yugoslav national team, D. Mijatović, presented a lucrative offer to the Spaniard and reassured him by saying that head coach Fabio Capello considers Guti as a key player of the team.

Meanwhile, coach F. Capello was pleased with the player's enthusiasm and wanted to keep him in the club for an even longer period. The experienced specialist from Italy recently stated that the player's value is higher than that of Liverpool's midfielder Xabi Alonso and Arsenal's talent Cesc Fàbregas.

President Ramón Calderón stated that he would like Guti to end his career wearing the Royal club's jersey: "If he wants to, he can finish his professional career playing for our team."

The blond midfielder had already extended his contract with Real for another five years in 2003, and it seems that he remained happy during his time at the capital club.

Yesterday it was reported that former long-time England national team player David Beckham also plans to bind his future with Real Madrid and will most likely sign a three-year contract, which will expire in 2009.

The Spaniard recently returned to the team's camp, as with only a few days left until the start of the season, he broke a toe.
