During the press conference held on Sunday, Guti officially confirmed, as expected, that he is leaving the Madrid club.
The football player, who has played for the team for fifteen years, said: "I just want to thank Real for a very beautiful part of my life. I grew up in Madrid, played for the team for 24 years, 15 of them in the starting lineup. My heart remains here."
He added: "It was not an easy decision, but I hope that in the future I can return here."
The 33-year-old veteran did not reveal where he will play next season: "I have an interesting offer from Besiktas in Istanbul, but nothing has been agreed yet."
On Monday, another long-time Real player, Raul, will bid farewell in a meeting with journalists before moving to Schalke in Gelsenkirchen.
