H. Bellerinas: we knew Ozil would stay

Hector Bellerin assures that the players of London's Arsenal never doubted the reliability of Mesut Ozil and knew that he would sign a new contract.

There were quite a few doubts about the future of the German national team's defender, as he allowed his contract to reach a point where offers were already allowed for other clubs.

However, after acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the 29-year-old player decided to link his future with the Gunners for another three seasons.

"In training and within the team, everyone knew that he intended to stay," Bellerin told the official Arsenal website.

"He is a guy who loves London, loves Arsenal, and becomes truly upset when things don't go well, so you know how much it means to him to win or lose at this club. I think everyone in the team, as well as in the dressing room, was sure of that."

"It's as exciting as a new purchase. Signing a contract with such a player with Mesut's capabilities and all that he brings to the team is amazing for Arsenal and the fans."

After all this news, the capital's footballers thrashed Everton 5-1 in the Premier League.
