Today international football lost not only Gareth Bale, but also World Champion Hugo Lloris.
The 36-year-old Tottenham goalkeeper informed "L'Equipe" newspaper that he is retiring from the French national team.
"There is a goalkeeper who is already ready (Mike Maignan). I want to leave while on top, rather than waiting for loan or competition that I cannot handle.
"It is also a choice for family, I want to spend more time with my wife and children," - said the national team captain to the French press.
In 2018, with Les Blues, H. Lloris won the World Champion title, this year he reached the final, where dramatically lost in a penalty shootout against Argentina.
