After the defeat (0:2) against the Argentinians, Mexico found themselves in a very uncomfortable situation in Group C.
In the last round, Gerardo Martino's pupils will meet the Saudi Arabian national team, and there they will need to fight for a victory in order to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals, but even that will not guarantee anything.
After a painful loss, one of Mexico's team leaders Hirving "Chucky" Lozano spoke to the press.
The striker said: "We need to turn over a new leaf.. we still have a chance, we maintain our belief. We will work on different aspects for the upcoming match. We will talk in the coming days, work hard. If there is even a 1% chance to reach the quarterfinals, we will still fight."
"We played the way the coach wanted. I think we played great in the first half, but in the second half, small details prevented us from winning."
