“Man Utd” team and England national team defender Harry Maguire spoke about one of the most famous football photos in recent years.
The well-known footballer was captured at the 2018 World Cup, when after a successful penalty shootout against Colombia, he looked at his wife in the stands.
This photo became very popular in internet memes.
“I don't remember what we were talking about at the time. My girlfriend, who is now my wife, didn't really like this photo or the angle from which it was taken,” Maguire said.
It became a popular meme and it was strange for us because we weren't used to being in newspapers and we kept our lives private. Among players and fans, even in the media, there was talk about it as a good change,” Maguire said.
“I missed what used to happen at the World Cup in the European Championship - talking to fans about their experiences and I hope it will be reality again in Qatar,” he added.
