The most expensive defender of all time Harry Maguire believes that critics should not judge his results at Manchester United club already after the first few months.
H. Maguire, who cost £80 million to the "Red Devils," like the whole Man Utd team, is going through a tough season - after eight rounds in the Premier League, they are in 12th place. However, defensively Man Utd is not that bad - they have conceded only eight goals, which shows that only three teams in the English leagues have conceded fewer than the Manchester team.
"This is a long-term deal," said H. Maguire. "Judge whether I was a successful investment for this club after five or six years."
"I believe and am confident that after 5-6 years I will be successful in this club, with whom during that time we will have achieved a lot.
Now we need to improve not as individual players, but as a team. When that happens, I believe that I will be a successful player for this club," said the Englishman without hiding his confidence.
Asked about being the most expensive defender of all time, H. Maguire replied: "It doesn't bother me at all. Leicester wanted to keep me and had all the cards in their favor. Then the clubs reached an agreement and I left.
I am convinced that this deal benefited both clubs."
