At 18:00 Lithuanian time, the second match of the 2017 Confederations Cup took place in Kazan. In Group A, the national teams of Portugal and Mexico played. In an intriguing match, the winner was not determined - Portugal, who had led twice in the match, eventually secured victory in added time through a penalty kick. The beginning of the match in Kazan was quite dull - the Mexicans dominated possession, but neither they nor the Portuguese created any dangerous chances in the first 20 minutes of the match. The first serious opportunity came in the 21st minute, when Cristiano Ronaldo took a shot that hit the crossbar. The ball bounced back to Portuguese players, and the game continued - Pepe eventually directed the ball towards the opponent's goal, but after video review, it was disallowed. In the 29th minute, Mexican players created their first dangerous shot when Carlos Vela fired wide. In the 34th minute, fans finally saw the first goal - after a superb pass from Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Quaresma scored to put Portugal ahead. Shortly after, the same R. Quaresma could have scored a second goal after another pass from C. Ronaldo, but he failed to do so, and in the 42nd minute, Javier Hernandez equalized the score. The game continued similarly in the second half - both teams played passively at the beginning of the half and failed to create any dangerous chances. The real excitement began with just 10 minutes remaining in regular time - in the 85th minute, Guillermo Ochoa made an impressive save to deny Andre Silva's header, but just a minute later, he conceded the second goal into his own net. In the 86th minute, Cedric Alves unexpectedly received the ball in the penalty area and scored with a powerful strike to put Portugal ahead again. However, the Mexicans did not give up and scored an equalizer in added time. With just a minute left in the match, Hector Moreno scored the winning goal with a header, taking the victory away from the tournament favorites. After Portugal and Mexico drew, the Russian footballers, who defeated New Zealand, became the clear leaders of Group A. In the second round of this group, Portugal will face Russia and Mexico will play against New Zealand. Result: Portugal 2 - 2 Mexico 34' [1 - 0] R. Quaresma 42' [1 - 1] J. Hernandez 86' [2 - 1] A. Cedric 90+1' [2 - 2] H. Moreno
