Defender Hayden Mullins, who plays in the "Premier" League of England, has signed a new and improved contract with the club and will stay at "Upton Park" for another four years, until the summer of 2010.

The 27-year-old footballer became the first purchase of the team's head coach Alan Pardew when the strategist lured him from the "Crystal Palace" team in October 2003.

Furthermore, he became the first player to sign a contract with the "Hammers" on the day when the club was taken over by businessman from Iceland Eggert Magnusson.

The player has been in the main team lineup for several weeks in a row, displacing Argentine national team star Javier Mascherano.

Last year, H. Mullins helped "West Ham" team to achieve a high 9th place in the "Premier" League and also managed to reach the final of the FA Cup with the team, where the player had to miss out due to accumulated yellow cards. Despite a dramatic 3-3 result, his team still lost to the prestigious "Liverpool" club after an 11-meter penalty shootout.

Wearing the "West Ham" team's kit, the defender scored 4 goals in 135 matches, and representing "Crystal Palace" in eleven, he scored 18 goals in 222 games.
