Strategist Harry Redknapp stated that he is very happy with the team's performance this season, however, despite this, he intends to buy several new football players in the winter.
Last Sunday, the team narrowly avoided relegation to the lower division and after a tough battle played a 2-2 draw with London's "Arsenal" and remains among the strongest contenders to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League.
"Before the season started, I wouldn't have believed that we could compete for the top spots in the Premier League," Redknapp assured.
"During the off-season, we played equally with 'Oxford' and then I thought we would have to endure another very difficult and long season, but since then my players have been playing just great."
The 59-year-old specialist also hinted that he does not intend to just watch from the sidelines when the transfer window opens on January 1st: "If we acquire several high-caliber players, we have a chance to maintain what we have achieved.
"The club owners have been very pleased with me so far, and if we add two or three newcomers at the beginning of next year, it will be great.
"I would like to spend some money allocated to me, but the most important thing will be to use them properly."
