„Barcelona“ legend Hristo Stoichkov mocked Madrid's „Real“ for their performances in the past decade in „La Liga“.
„The Royal“ club won their tenth UEFA Champions League trophy last year, but will finish this season without titles, while „Barca“ has already secured the Spanish champions title and will compete in the King's Cup and Champions League final.
Stoichkov joked that Madrid is now more successful than even their basketball team.
„It's a shame that in seven seasons they have won only one league title“, – the Bulgarian told Radio4G.
„I think, even in my time, along with other former players, we would have won more Spanish titles.“
„It seems that this year the „Merengues“ pay more attention to the basketball team (which recently triumphed in the Euroleague - ed.), as they will watch the football final on TV.“
Stoichkov also criticized the „Real“ fans who booed captain Iker Casillas and called the goalkeeper a football icon."
