Albanian national team goalkeeper and captain of the German Bundesliga club Altin Lala has extended his contract for another two years and committed to stay with the team until 2009.

The 31-year-old player, whose contract would have expired this summer, agreed on Wednesday to extend his contract with Hannover for another two years and will remain in Dieter Hecking's team until June 2009.

There is a clause in the goalkeeper's contract which states that he can leave Hannover and move to a club participating in the UEFA Champions League tournament for a fee of 4 million euros.

Albanian has been playing for Hannover since 1998. Wearing the Hannover jersey in both the top and lower Bundesliga leagues, he has played more than 230 matches.

In 2002, he helped the club rise to the highest Bundesliga division and became the team captain in 2004.

Currently, Hannover has 27 points after 21 matches in the national championship and holds the 8th position.
