33-year-old "Manchester City" captain Vincent Kompany came through when his team needed him the most. "Man City" defeated "Leicester" in the final English Premier League match with a minimal difference. Kompany scored the only and possibly title-winning goal in the second half, with an impressive strike from about 25 meters. After the match, Kompany mentioned that he heard his teammates urging him to pass the ball instead of taking the shot, but he decided to take the risk and improvisation, which later brought three points. "I heard them saying - don't shoot! However, throughout my long career, I have never reached a point where younger players would tell me when to shoot", the defender said with a smile. "I can assure you that I have scored similar goals during training. The funniest part is that throughout my 15-year career, I have always heard the defenders urging me not to shoot, but to pass to the flank. I've been hearing it for 15 years! Once I told them: one day, I will take a long shot that will hit the target, and you will all be happy. And that's exactly what happened today. This is a really important goal. We haven't won anything yet, but we defeated a very strong opponent", added Kompany.
Having reached an amazing milestone: "Everyone shouted - don't shoot, but I didn't listen to them"
