For the second time in a row, Hearts faced Kilmarnock, and after a frustrating draw last week in the cup matches, the Edinburgh club now secured a convincing victory at home with a three-goal margin.

After eleven minutes, Hearts doubled their lead - Mikoliūnas broke through on the right flank, passed the ball to Neilson, who tried to pass it into the penalty area and opponent's defender J.Fowler accidentally scored an own goal. The hosts secured the victory with L.Miller's goal in the 67th minute, and with the result becoming clear, the team's coach sent Marius Kižys onto the field in the 73rd minute.
Before the match, in front of nine thousand spectators gathered at Tynecastle Stadium, the new Hearts owner Vladimir Romanovas was introduced, while the team's newcomer was not registered for the match and watched from the central stand.
After this victory, Hearts reduced their gap from third-placed city neighbors Hibernian to two points, who lost to Rangers with a score of 0-3, and also increased their lead over Aberdeen, who lost 1-2 away to Dunfermline, playing without Andrius Skerla.
In other matches of the day, Dundee secured an important victory at home by beating Motherwell 2-1, while the bottom two teams' clash was won by Dundee Utd, who defeated Livingston 0-2 away.
