dinburgh signed a two-year contract with sixteen-year-old Romanian talent Dumitru Copilu. The contract includes a clause that after the contract expires, the contract with the Romanian youth national team member under 17 years old can be extended for another five years.

At the age of 16, the football player also drew serious interest from Celtic and Liverpool, but the Romanian chose the club led by Vladimirs Romanovs.

"I feel good being here and I am satisfied with myself. When I heard that Hearts wanted to sign a contract with me, I was very happy. It's like a dream come true," D. Copilu officially told the club's website.

Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas was pleased with the new team member. "I think this is a very beneficial deal for us. We pursued him for a long time and we are satisfied. Dumitru is a very young player, but highly promising, and he is happy to have arrived at Hearts," said the coach from Lithuania.

D. Copilu, compared to the legendary Romanian footballer Gheorghe Hagi in his homeland, was also invited to a trial at Celtic. The Romanian received a lot of praise at the Glasgow club, but chose the offer from the Edinburgh club, which was more acceptable to him.

"I know D. Copilu is compared to G. Hagi. Although we have to wait and see how he develops, his quality is already noticeable," said V. Ivanauskas.
