As reported on Monday by the representative of the Belgian "Genk" club, in the battle for the position of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team's midfielder, Mirsad Beslija defeated the English Premier League's underdog.

"All three parties reached an agreement with 'Hearts' on Sunday evening, and Mirsad flew to Edinburgh this morning, where he should undergo a medical examination today or tomorrow," said "Genk" sports director Ariel Jacobs. "We had an offer from 'Sunderland' to loan Mirsad until the end of the season, but that was unacceptable to us."

A. Jacobs told journalists that the 26-year-old M. Beslija will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Edinburgh club owned by V. Romanov, but he did not disclose the details of the financial agreement. According to the Belgian media, "Genk" will receive about 1.5 million euros for the Bosnian. Mirsad Beslija, who has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina 39 times, is considered one of the fastest players in Belgium.

However, this reinforcement could be bad news for Lithuanian football fans, as M. Beslija plays on the right flank - the same position as Lithuanians Deividas Cesnauskis and Saulius Mikoliunas. With the significant amount that the Bosnian is receiving to join 'Hearts', the playing time for the Lithuanians on the field could be greatly reduced.

It is reported that the Edinburgh club will soon be joined by another midfielder - 24-year-old Lee Johnson, who has represented the English League Two team 'Yeovil Town' for the last four years in midfield.
