The Kaunas district club "Hegelmann" has added its first summer transfer window newcomer. He is a young striker from Nigeria, Rasheedas Yusuf, who has played in the top league of Cyprus for the last two seasons.
The 20-year-old attacking player joined the team last week and is currently working hard in training, along with other players, in preparation for the upcoming championship match in Alytus.
"I am very happy to become a part of this team. I believe in my future in this club, and I am very pleased that everyone has welcomed me very warmly and allowed me to feel like a family member from the first day."
"I want to work hard and help the team achieve its goals and, most importantly, improve myself and become the player I have always dreamed of being. I know that together, by working hard, we can achieve great things," the newcomer told fchegelmann.com.
The African player moved to Europe at the beginning of 2023 and signed with the Cypriot champion of that season, Limassol's "Aris" club, but R. Yusuf was loaned out to another league team, "Karmiotissa." In this team, the "Hegelmann" newcomer played 6 matches and was loaned to another top-tier Cypriot team, Limassol AEL, in the summer.
At this club, the Nigerian fared much better, playing 27 matches over the year, and in a cup match against Chlorakas "Akritas," he scored three goals in 42 minutes.
"Moving to Europe and playing in the Cypriot league was a big and enjoyable challenge for me, and of course, a great privilege to start my professional career at such a high level. I had to compete with very capable players and share the field with many experienced footballers; it was a very good experience for me and there was certainly no lack of motivation."
The newcomer, who has joined the blue and whites, will be able to showcase his skills in the upcoming "TOPsport A League" match in Alytus against "Dainava."
