Blue and white intertwined hands with the first newcomer of the approaching season. It became a 25-year-old defender from Brazil.

Douglas Cruz can successfully play both as a central defender and as a defensive midfielder. The tall and solidly built defender feels great in battles for high balls and distributes the ball well to his teammates.

The Brazilian newcomer started his professional career not in his native country, but in Croatia. At the age of 20, he joined the NK "Dubrava ZG" club, which competes in the second league of that country. Later, his path led to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The defender played in the 2020-2021 seasons for the clubs Bania Lukos "Borac" and Prijedor "Rudar". With the latter team, he won the First League championship.

Before the 2021-2022 season, D. Cruz joined forces with the Slovak club FC "Nitra". There, the defender played 21 matches and scored two goals.

In mid-2022, the Brazilian returned to Croatia and put on the jersey of the Zagreb "Hrvatski Dragovoljac" team.

During the last season, D. Cruz played in his native Brazil and defended the colors of the "Esporte Clube São Bernardo" club.

"I was intrigued by the offer from 'Hegelmann'. I set high goals for myself and want to win everything, and the club aims for the same. Although blue and white are a relatively young club, I will do everything to leave my mark on it.

I know that this club, despite its short time in existence, has already achieved a lot in Lithuanian football and even competed in European cup qualifiers. It is a club building a legacy and aiming to attract players from Brazil. The Lithuanian league is also growing each year and already has its own reputation," said the blue and white newcomer.

The club from Kaunas region promises to start preparations for the new season on January 8.
