Hegelmann of Kaunas District Rises to the Top of the TOPsport A League

After a considerable hiatus, the leader in the "TOPsport A League" has changed – it is now the Kaunas district "Hegelmann" club. In the 26th round, the blue and whites defeated Marijampolė's "Sūduva" with a score of 1:0 (1:0) away.

The decisive goal in these muddy matches came from Mato Vareika, who scored in the 26th minute. Klaudijus Upstas provided a pass from the right flank, and M. Vareika technically disarmed Giedrius Zenkevičius.

The "Sūduva" goalkeeper didn't have too much work to do throughout the match – he had to defend against attacks from Hugo Figueredo and Steve Kingue. The Marijampolė team played more actively in the second half, but in the final phase of the attack, they missed out on success a couple of times.

In added time, Dovydas Lastauskas's squad could have restored balance, but H. Figueredo deflected the ball that was heading towards the empty net.
