“Anzhi” club strategist Guus Hiddink announced that he plans to end his coaching career after this season.

This season will be the last for the Dutchman to lead a professional football club, regardless of whether the team he leads from Dagestan reaches the Champions League tournament or not.

The coach took over the reins of "Anzhi" in February when he signed an 18-month contract. Hiddink decided that he will not sign a new contract and will end his career in professional football.

“I did not plan to stay with this team for a long time. Even if we qualify for the Champions League, I think I will retire after the season. I am 66 years old, so I can say that's enough,” said the Dutchman.

Hiddink's career began coaching PSV club in 1987. Since then, he has coached the national teams of Turkey, the Netherlands, and Russia, as well as clubs like Valencia, Real Madrid, and Chelsea.
