The hosts took the lead in the 16th minute after Ermin Bicakcic's goal, and in the 24th minute, Hoffenheim doubled their advantage through Munas Dabbur. Bayern's hope was revived in the 36th minute by Joshua Kimmich, but in the second half, Hoffenheim only increased their lead.
