London's "Queens Park Rangers" club announced some unexpected news on Tuesday - their head coach Harry Redknapp has stepped down from his position.
The 67-year-old strategist did not show good results with QPR, but the reason for his departure is not just that. In the near future, he will undergo a knee operation and will not be able to fully dedicate himself to training.
"I had a fantastic time with QPR," the strategist said. "I would like to thank the club's staff, players, all the employees, and especially the fans, who have been amazing and supported me since the very beginning."
"Unfortunately, I need to have knee surgery right away. This operation will hinder my work for at least a few weeks. It means that I would not be able to be at training every day and fully commit to this job 100 percent. I decided that this job needs to be passed on to someone else," added the former "Tottenham" coach.
H. Redknapp worked at QPR team since 2012.
