The German club has extended contracts with defender Khalid Boulahrouz from the Netherlands and Guy Demel from Ivory Coast until June 2010.
Twenty-four-year-old defender K.Boulahrouz, who is expected to play in the upcoming World Cup next month, threatened to leave the club if they sold his defensive partner Daniel van Buyten, but later his attitude changed and he accepted the contract offered by the club.
"I feel good in this club. We have a great team, a fantastic coach, and great conditions to work," K.Boulahrouz said on the club's official website.
Defender and midfielder G.Demel, who plays in defense and midfield, was also pleased to receive an offer from the club and accepted it without hesitation.
"From the very beginning, I felt that the club believes in me, and I also see good prospects for this club," G.Demel said.
"Hamburger" is in second place in the Bundesliga and has already secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.
